What is your favourite tropical destination for couples looking for a romantic escape?

This is a tough one as I have so many favourites, but for couples specifically you can’t beat Bora Bora in Tahiti. With endless blue water, backing onto the stunning views of Mt Otemanu, it is seriously breathtaking. The luxury resorts in Bora Bora are just stunning and it’s a great destination to immerse yourself in the French/Polynesian culture, with is an interesting combination. From Overwater villas to secluded dinners for two under the stars… with the views and the culture, there is nowhere like it in the world.

And, if we were to plan the ultimate family vaycay, sparing no expense? Where is your favourite tropical destination for families?

The Maldives of course! This was going to be my favourite destination for ‘Couples’ (which it also is!), but for families there is nothing quite like the Maldives. It is actually fabulous for kids. The resorts are world class and they have amazing staff who run a huge range of activities for kids. From Marine biology programs to recreational activities like waterslides, snorkelling, local arts and crafts, and more more more, there is SO much for families to do in the Maldives and kids absolutely love it!

Where in the world have you sat and sipped your most memorable coastal cocktail?

Without a doubt it was at sunset, in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. Perched high on the hill overlooking the town of Amalfi, Ravello has views of this famous Italian coastline as far as the eyes can see. Definitely a pinch myself moment, and somewhere that you really do need to see to be believe. And the cocktail of choice? An Aperol Spritz of course! They originated in Italy, so it seemed very fitting.

What is your ‘Must pack’ travel item when heading to a coastal destination?

A great kaftan is the BEST accessory to pack as its super light and takes up no room at all. You can use it to throw over swimwear at the beach or by the pool, or as PJ’s too! We also love to wrap ours up and wear as a top over denim shorts. So versatile!

Lastly, if you could choose one Island destination within a 6hr flight of Sydney, where would you go and why?

As basic as this sounds, I would still choose Indonesia. For me Indonesia as a destination offers so much more diversity than what the pacific islands tend to offer, and all in all the food is way way better (which is VERY important to me) hehe. While I admit that the beaches around Bali and the main tourist hot spots aren’t as idyllic as the pacific, there are ways to find them. You just have to get off the beaten track and explore a little further than Bali. Places like Nusa Lembongan, Sarong and Nihi Sumba Island are all as idyllic as you can get, and not AS many people know about them yet (shhh!). Other Bali hot spots like Ubud and Canggu are also favourites, as you’ve got such a lovely blend of the tropical rain forests, health and wellness resorts, great surf beaches and again some super delicious, fresh and tasty food. What a combo!

Thanks so much for taking the time out to chat to us today, we really appreciate it.
